Volunteer With Us

Our volunteers help our organization keep moving throughout the year! There's a constant need to sort, scan, and move books, prepare for sales and other events, and more. If you're interested in helping, take a look below to see some examples of what we do. Remember, your time as a volunteer is valuable. Whether you can contribute an hour a week or an hour a month, it all helps!

Current Volunteer Needs

We are currently looking for:

  • Book Sorters and Scanners: We get a constant supply of book donations, and they need to be sorted, scanned, and organized on the shelves and tables for our bookstore

Volunteer Duties

There are plenty of ways to help the Friends of the Library, with varying levels of committment. If you want to help but aren't sure where you might fit or how much time you can dedicate, reach out to us!

Bookstore Management

Help run our daily used bookshop. Keep it tidy and organized, process cash sales from customers, and sort incoming donations

Fundraising Outreach

Help us solicit donations from local businesses to help fund programs like the Summer Reading Adventure

Helping with Events/Sales

Set up tables before sales and reorganize inventory afterward. You can also volunteer during events themselves!

Board Member

Join us for board meetings and vote on funding for programming, suggest ideas, give feedback, and help influence the direction of the Friends!

Email Us

The best way to get involved with the Friends is to send us an email; look for the address in the sidebar to the left. Volunteering with Friends is different from the library itself, so this is the best way to get started. Email us your questions or interest and we'll get back to you!
